The Indian Army was formed during 2nd world war, by Indians in 1942 in the course of service in Indian Army, who wanted to win India’s independence from British Empire. Indian national army is also known as Azad Hind Fauj. At that time there is no sufficient trained military staff thus Subhash Chandra Bose established an officer training school for providing proper training and guidelines. We can say that it was a significant step in the Indian independence movement. In this modern age our Indian Army stands strongly against our enemies to protect our mother India.

Entry route in Indian Army
For making career in Indian army, Combined Defence Services Examination (CDSE) is the entry route. The UPSC conducts this CDSE twice in a year. There is an objective type written test and personal interview for selected qualified persons who pass written exam for selection process in Indian Army. There are various centers all over the country holds this CDSE conducted by Service Selection Board (SSB). The objective of this exam is to check your aptitude, confidence level, communication skill, decision making power, intelligence and ability etc.

Short idea about the commission of Indian Army
There are two kinds of services in Indian army: 1) Permanent commission means a career in army until you will not retire. 2) Short service commission, where you can work for 10 years on short basis and it is expandable up to 14 years. At the end of the service you can select permanent commission or you can resign.
Interested candidates can select the suitable courser as per their qualification, age limit & marital status. There are various steps for selection of officers who want to join Indian Army such as; candidates’ status, SSB interview, selection centre and medical examination etc.
