UAY Scheme 2017: With a view to promoting innovation in areas related to manufacturing and design industry, the ministry of Human Resource and Development announced Uchchatar Avishkar Yojana on 6th October 2015. Here we will discuss on Uchchatar Avishkar Yojana application form or status check. It is aimed to spur innovative mind set in the students as well as faculties in premier institutes of higher education.
The Uchchatar Avishkar Yojana (UAY) is different from other regular schemes which mainly focus on the growth of the industrial sectors in the country. It is aimed to introduce modern innovative technologies directly into the industrial manufacturing units regarding the requirement of specific industries.
Under this Yojana, the industrial sectors are to be improved with the introduction of the latest technology with respect to the requirements and needs to the respective industries. The scheme is administered by Higher Education Department of India.
Key Features of the Uchchatar Avishkar Yojana
Currently, only Indian Institute of Technology, IITs are included under the scheme. It will work towards coordinated efforts by academics and industries to conduct research so that fruitful outcome can be achieved.
Under the scheme, projects will be undertaken to meet the specific need of industry. The projects will consider employing modern technologies to find industrial solutions.
The scheme lays emphasis towards the innovative ideas and implementing it once research and practical studies performed by the students.
Introduction of the scheme among the educational sectors will foster the sense of unity among the scholars all over the nation and work with the only intention of developmental growth of the industries in India by improving the output.
Guidelines for the projects are provided by the central government of India. A special team is formed in IIT Kanpur which is authorized to sanction projects under the UAY.
The projects will be monitored on half yearly basis.
Funding of the Projects under Uchchatar Avishkar Yojana
25% of the cost of the project is to be borne by the industry for which the project is undertaken, 25% by the Department of Science and Technology and funding for the remaining 50% will be from MHRD.
About Rs, 25 crores are spent by the central government yearly for the projects under the scheme. The project is funded every half year after the project work is supervised and the concerned are satisfied with the work accomplished under the project.
The Uchchatar Avishkar Yojana will bridge the gap between academic study and practical aspects of it. It will inspire young talent from premier institutes of the Country to bring innovative ideas and latest technology in the industrial sector to meet their needs.
